NYSSPA Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by New York State Society of Physician Assistants
Overview
Each year NYSSPA distributes several scholarships to physician assistants and PA students. In addition to financial awards, scholarship winners receive complimentary registration to the annual CME Conference and will be honored at the Clara Vanderbilt Gala.
Scholarships available
- PA Student Scholarships — three (3) awards of $1,500 each
- Kenneth Whitney PA Memorial Scholarship — one (1) award
- Note: The 2026 scholarship application portal will open in May 2026
PA Student Scholarships (details)
Three $1,500 scholarships are granted annually to PA students. Consistent with NYSSPA’s goal of preparing future PAs to be clinical leaders and advocates, each PA Student Scholarship recipient will also be paired with a mentor who is a current NYSSPA Board Member or Committee Chair.
Eligibility for PA Student Scholarships
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a current NYSSPA PA Student member
- Be enrolled in an ARC-PA–accredited PA program located in New York State
- Be in the graduate-level or post-bachelor phase of PA training
- Not have previously received a NYSSPA scholarship
- Not serve as a NYSSPA Board Member or as a Committee Chair
Application review
Only fully completed application packets will be reviewed by the scholarship committee.
