Scholarship America®, the country's leading creator and overseer of scholarships and other educational assistance programs for individuals, corporations, foundations, and associations, manages the program. The sponsor has the exclusive right to determine eligibility for individual programs, and Scholarship America's evaluation team reviews qualified applications.
Qualification Criteria
To be considered for the Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship Program, applicants must satisfy ALL the following requirements:
- Must be a U.S. resident living within the Alliant Energy service area at the time of application
- Must be a dependent child of a current customer in good standing or a current customer in good standing of one of Alliant Energy’s utility subsidiaries (Interstate Power and Light Co. or Wisconsin Power and Light Co.)
- Must be 24 years old or younger, enrolling for the first time in full-time undergraduate study in a craft/skilled trade (such as Electrical Power Distribution, Gas Utility Construction and Service, and Welding) or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school located within the Alliant Energy Corporation service area (Iowa and Wisconsin) for the entire upcoming academic year
- Must have a cumulative high school GPA between 2.5 and 4.00 on a 4.00 scale (or equivalent)
High school seniors who have taken or are taking post-secondary college courses before high school graduation are also eligible.
Employees of Alliant Energy Corporation, Scholarship America, their subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members (spouses, parents, children or siblings and their spouses) and individuals living in the same household of such employees who are employed at the time of application are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Scholarship Awards
If chosen as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,000 award. A maximum of twenty-five (25) awards will be given.
The awards are one-time only and are not renewable.
The awards are exclusively for undergraduate study.
Notification
Applicants will be informed in late March.
Notifications will be sent via email. It is recommended to avoid using a school or work email when setting up your account. Instead, use a personal email address that you will continue to have access to.
