Overview
NorthEast Electricals is awarding seven $1,000 scholarships to graduating students from New England. Of the seven awards, one is reserved specifically for a graduating senior from Brockton High School — the site of NorthEast Electricals’ Central Distribution Center and company headquarters.
Who is eligible
This scholarship is open to students graduating from high schools in any New England state. Applicants must submit a written response choosing one of the essay prompts below.
Essay prompts (choose one)
Option 1
- Describe an occasion when your behavior was shaped by group identity.
- What did that experience teach you about yourself? What did it reveal about others?
Option 2
- Do people communicate differently with those outside their usual social circles? Explain your view.
- How can awareness of perceived differences be used to improve communication with others?
Essay requirements
- Length: between 250 and 500 words.
- Your answer should include a personal story or real-life example.
- Do not include your name within the essay text (anonymous responses are required).
Awards
Seven scholarships of $1,000 each will be granted. One of these awards is dedicated to a graduating student from Brockton High School.
